Because he has the ability to make her feel better and make her believe that everything will be okay. That she won’t be sad forever and that she’ll get over her parents death. And eventually she did. Because of Stefan and how being with him made her happy and glad to be alive. And when Stefan told her that they’ll get through it one day at a time in 4x01 she believes that because they have been through so much and they’ll get through this just like they get through everything. Because in the end of love like theirs will never die and it has the ability to conquer all obstacles.

Technology completely changed the way we waited and we grew up too fast. The simple things in life seems more meaningful now.
